NY SAVE does not receive any governmental aid. It
relies solely on contributions from the public, as well as from
corporations and foundations for its survival. Financial support in the
form of donations, bequests, gifts of life insurance, and other kinds of
deferred gifts are being solicited from animal lovers just like you to
ensure the success of this program. To contribute to NY SAVE in the form of a
donation please click on the PayPal button below.

Volunteering:
Many people who
are truly concerned with animal welfare are unable to make a financial
contribution to organizations they would like to help. If you fall into this
category, we understand. But NY
SAVE could use your help as a volunteer. If you would like
to volunteer some of your time to help us, please email the committee
chairs below, in your area of interest. Once sufficient funds are raised
for NY SAVE to fully
activate its program, any pet owner residing in one of the five boroughs of
New York City
who is truly in need of financial assistance will be able to take their pet
to any participating veterinary hospital for emergency veterinary care. Pet
owners can apply directly to NY
SAVE or obtain services through a referral by a
veterinarian who is a member of the Veterinary
Medical Association of New York City. To qualify, you will simply need
to provide identification and some form of documentation indicating that
you are currently unemployed, on public assistance, disabled, or living at
or below the poverty level. There will be a $1,500.00 annual limit per
household requesting funds for veterinary care. Pet owners who are able to pay
a portion of the veterinary care will be asked to do so on a sliding-scale
basis. Veterinarians participating in the program will reduce their fees in
order to care for animals accepted for treatment under NY SAVE. The pets treated through
NY SAVE will receive
the same level of care as any other veterinary patients. After treating the
emergency condition, the veterinarian will institute the appropriate
therapy for the continued stabilization of your pet.
